A speed controller, or electronic speed controller (ESC), is an electronic circuit that regulates the speed of an electric motor by converting and controlling the power it receives from a battery or other source. It takes a user's throttle input and translates it into changes in motor speed, often by adjusting the voltage or using pulse-width modulation (PWM). ESCs can also provide additional functions like reversing the motor and dynamic braking.
